WHAT HAPPENED IN FINGAL 1999-2004

• The Board was set up at the same time as a Countywide Community & Voluntary Forum.

• The Strategy for Economic, Social & Cultural Development was written involving the inputs of nine committees and over 100 different organisations. It was published in May 2002.

• The Board began to implement the Strategy and set up structures to help it monitor the various actions.

• The Board took steps to ensure that there is ongoing co-ordination among the agencies and partners.

• The Board reviewed it’s strategy in late 2003, re-setting priorities and establishing new initiatives.

• The Board has implemented several of the published actions, and while some had to be set aside, new themes have been added.
